Over the past 4.5 years Serein has worked with start-ups, VC firms, factories, non- governmental organisations and multinational corporations on workplace diversity, safety and inclusion. Our work has extended beyond India to impact teams based in South East Asia, UK and US with over 65,000 employees across organisations engaging with our content. Our partners are spread across industries like pharmaceutical, finance, education, hospitality, IT, travel and leisure, healthcare, manufacturing, transport and logistics. We partner with business of all types and sizes – from a large software enterprise that’s interested in attracting more women developers to a national retail chain that wants an inclusive culture on the shop floor. Dr. Ishani Roy, Founder: A scientist by training, Ishani has a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Brown University and has been a post-doctoral fellow at University of Oxford and Kings College London. Most recently she was a researcher with General Electric (G.E.) where she contributed to product development in the Aerospace, Healthcare and Energy sectors.

During the course of her work, she became interested in how some companies were successful in growing an innovative and diverse culture, while many others struggled. Serein is an attempt at using science to enable diversity and inclusion and drive organizational development in every business in India.

Chryslyn D’Costa, Co-Founder: After studying Economics from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai, Chryslynn joined the Gandhi Fellowship Program in Rajasthan that addresses educational leadership in rural government schools.

She graduated from Azim Premji University in Bangalore with a Master’s in Education. Her work at APU and in Rajasthan strengthened her interest and expertise on leadership, gender, diversity and inclusion. It has led her to understand the nuances of organisational culture and workings of diverse teams.

Chryslynn is a regular columnist with publications such as LiveMint and The Hindu and serves as external member to several company’s Internal Committee (IC).

Chryslyn D’Costa, Co-Founder: After studying Economics from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai, Chryslynn joined the Gandhi Fellowship Program in Rajasthan that addresses educational leadership in rural government schools.

She graduated from Azim Premji University in Bangalore with a Master’s in Education. Her work at APU and in Rajasthan strengthened her interest and expertise on leadership, gender, diversity and inclusion. It has led her to understand the nuances of organisational culture and workings of diverse teams.

Dr. Naureen Bhullar, Research Advisor: Naureen Bhullar got her PhD in Psychology from Virginia Tech and taught at Widener University in Chester, PA where she was tenured. She did her post-doctoral work with social psychologist, Ramadhar Singh at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). She is currently engaged in research across different topics including emotion and emotional contagion, meaning in life, mindfulness, autism in adolescents and adults, women in STEM, and diversity and inclusion. She has published her research in different journals, including Psychological Studies, IIMB Management Review, Psychologia, Personal Relationships, Advances in Autism, Current Psychology and more. She is a reviewer of articles published in Journal of Humanistic Psychology, Psychological Reports, North American Journal of Psychology, and Advances in Autism. She is also engaged in research with Serein, which includes writing the yearly handbook, assessment of training sessions, and co-creating activities for different workshops on biases and sexual harassment.  

Aparna Pandurangan, Head of Operations: Aparna Pandurangan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University Chennai, India. Aparna is passionately involved with Serein in adherence to all statutory compliance under the POSH Act. Such as documentation, records, reports & returns as per the Act. She is also in-charge of establishing guidelines and processes to adhere to statutory requirements under the Law. She has been responsible for client management, Serein’s online platform and marketing. Prior to this, she was with Compile Inc., where she worked on a variety of Data Analytics engagements helping clients in the Healthcare & Technology industries. Previously she was with Wipro InfoTech Limited where she had been a Management Information System Analyst for Dell-Operations’, involved extensively in various Business application enhancements and development. She was involved in developing and customization of code to automate in business operation tools, wrote multiple scripts to generate reports for server details based on department.

Shilpa Singru, Head of Production and Design: Shilpa Singru has created award-winning video and television content for organizations as diverse as UTV, PBS and Microsoft. Her most recent work as producer was for the Emmy-winning show Biz Kid$ on PBS. Shilpa has an M.F.A in film from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Her experimental work has been screened at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Institute of Visual Arts and in film festivals around the world. She is passionate about creating engaging content in video, film, graphic design, and animation.

Shilpa is heads production of design of Serein’s online platform and is responsible for envisioning e-learning courses, content and design.

Faakirah Junaid Refiquee, Legal Associate: Faakirah Junaid Rafiquee is a lawyer and content designer. She is an experienced head of operations skilled in research, policy analysis, human rights, mental health, women rights, workshop moderation and document drafting. She is a strong operations professional with a Bachelor of Law focused in women rights and policy analysis. She has facilitated and designed workshops on issues like feminism, prevention of mental health, and childhood sexual abuse. She also has developed courses, modules and programmes on the same issues. Faakirah writes on women’s and mental health issues.

Faakirah also acts as an external member to organizations such as Samagra.

Bianca D’Costa, Head of Marketting: After graduating from St. Xavier’s college, Mumbai in Political Science, Bianca D’Costa worked in hospitality for 5 years with Emirates airlines, learning and experiencing multiple cultures while working with people from across the world. This experience gave her an understanding of personal and workplace best practices for inclusion.

At Serein Bianca heads employee engagement and wellness initiatives. She implements these by studying and researching various forms of art that showcase inclusion and diversity from where we can learn to be more empathetic. In the present mandatory WFH situation where teams are struggling with burnout, wellbeing and team bonding issues, Bianca designs interactive online content, employee wellbeing courses, and engagement sessions that build inclusive work environments.

Bianca also acts as an external member to the PoSH committee of several companies including Compile Inc., QuadGen Wireless etc.

Arathi Kannan, Diversity and Inclusion Expert: Arathi is a published researcher with Masters degrees in Applied Psychology from Women’s Christian College, Chennai, and Criminology from Bond University, Australia. She has done extensive work in developing and facilitating intervention programs focused on inclusion and wellbeing. Her experience includes working with people from different backgrounds, including refugee groups and offenders on probation at the Queensland Corrective Services. She has helped create cultural competency workshops for Australian public health officials to assist survivors of domestic violence.

In the last two years, Arathi had created a variety of content on mental health and wellbeing. Her work covered the mental health impact of domestic violence, adolescent mental health, and employee wellbeing. She has also designed and facilitated several workshops on employee mental health.

Arathi is responsible for research, content development, and program facilitation on wellbeing, inclusion, and diversity.

She has done extensive work in developing and facilitating intervention programs focused on inclusion and wellbeing. Her experience includes working with people from different backgrounds, including refugee groups and offenders on probation at the Queensland Corrective Services. She has helped create cultural competency workshops for Australian public health officials to assist survivors of domestic violence.

Ruchika

Dr. Ruchika Sharma, Inclusion and Sexual Harassment Expert: Dr. Ruchika Sharma has been teaching History at undergraduate level, at University of Delhi for over a decade. She has completed B.A. (honours) in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and M.A.,M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Center for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Through her research, she has been engaged with women’s history and gender issues in early modern India. She has published chapters in books, research journals, online portals and magazines. She is currently working on a monograph looking at mixed-race households through legal archive, in early modern Bengal. She is also a kathak and contemporary dancer, and choreographer.

Jyothika Lobo, Sexual Harassment Consultant: A seasoned HR professional with over 14 years of experience, Jyothika holds a Masters degree in Industrial Psychology & a certification in OD from TISS. In the course of her career; Jyothika has been involved in projects that have challenged her to find creative ways to help organizations scale up in unique market conditions. Navigating across industries that range from finance & software to non-profits & social enterprises has helped her gain a better understanding of best practices that are universal in nature. Jyothika’s focus especially has been in helping the leadership team articulate their unique culture taking into account the principles of Diversity & Inclusion. Having set up a number of Internal Committees for various clients along with defining their policies and facilitating workshops & conversations provides Jyothika an unique perspective on D&I in general & POSH policy in specific.
